Museum Leadership at the Academy of Natural Sciences
August 04, 2016
The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University partners each year with a selected student from our Museum Leadership Program to participate in a highly prestigious graduate assistantship. Past students have worked in exhibition planning, design, and education, based on their experience and skillsets. Students in Museum Leadership courses also work closely with Academy staff on strategic planning, marketing development and education.
This summer, you may have noticed, or even heard, a T. rex roaring or Triceratops bellowing outside of the Academy. Don’t worry, you aren’t imaging anything- the newest additions to the parkway are two of the animatronic (and scientifically accurate) dinosaurs of Dinosaurs Unearthed. This family friendly exhibit opened in June, featuring more than a dozen realistic, life-size dinosaurs, as well as skeletons, skulls, claws and more. If Dino’s aren’t your passion, be sure to stop by the annual festival, Bug Fest, on August 13th and 14th. Click here to see upcoming programming exhibitions this fall, including the Philadelphia Shell Show and the Wild Wizarding Weekend.
If you’re a DragonCard holder, you can enjoy free general museum admission to the museum and Drexel employees get 10% off a membership if they complete the ANS Membership Payroll Deduction Form.
